In recent weeks and months, I’ve had at least one person directly ask me, “Who you voting for?”—and I have also heard and seen conversations and discussions to various degrees about this candidate saying something about another candidate and the other one responding back just as harshly in turn. It’s amazing how much our current political situation has caused such verbal conflicts and grassfires even amongst believers that it makes you wonder if we’re having such horrible holy wars amongst ourselves about mundane political concerns that our Prime Direction (i.e.—“Great Commission”) given to us by our Master before He left us is getting neglected in the process. It’s even gotten to the point where something absolutely needs to be said to bring some perspective and balance into the matter.
Also—has it seemed to you that the way we’re attempting to elect our nation’s president has been more an attempt to elect the Messiah as president (and vice versa for the choosing of the spiritual leaders and pastors of our land)? What’s a TRUE believer in Jesus/Y’shua supposed to do as far as carrying out his/her civic and political duties and responsibilities—and (more importantly) expected to treat others with differing and opposing views in this current political climate? And what should the MAIN THING be when it’s said and done? Believe it or not, Pesach and the Spring Holy Days seem to be about as good a time as any to deal with the relationship of a Believer to politics. We might even find out a thing or two along the way about how our Savior Himself reacted when certain people in His time tried to prop Him up as a sort of major political figure of His time. Let’s have a good chat about this during this session’s MAIN STUDY after some important ministry announcements to see what we might truly find out about this most controversial topic and find some way to heed the prophet Isaiah’s admonition for all of us to “…come and let us reason together” and find the common ground at the very Place we should always find it most.

This fearless leader of my own local writers’ group has had over 40 years working within various parts of the educational system as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor and currently writes a weekly parenting column for the Plainview Herald. Those who are either new parents or are members of families that could use some Biblically-sound instruction in the area of parenting and family issues would do well to take advantage of this new parenting resource that allows the reader to glean useful parenting skills from Carole’s unique perspective as a mother, grandmother, and educational counselor. If you haven’t already done so, please stop by the website from time to time for vital updates not only on book purchases, but also for the plans and direction the Lord may be taking this particular ministry.

Our new Facebook page is now the QUICKEST way to keep an eye between Newsletter editions on what’s going on as far as BSPM and BSPOP. Those who are more social-media inclined are more than welcome to stop by, give us a like, post comments, questions, etc. about anything related to BSPM or BSPOP.
Our primary emphasis lately have been recent efforts to further increase book sales and obtain critical financial underwriting for both our business and ministry projects. This has been primarily been done through a couple of recent trips to Amarillo for the purpose of getting the word out about all of our BSPOP releases. We were privileged to be present for a recent concert at the Church at Quail Creek given by Sandi Patty and Veritas as well as a recent appearance at another Amarillo church by internationally known speaker and apologist Dr. Ravi Zecharias. We are even as we speak seriously contemplating the possibility of yet another similar trip within the next couple of weeks for similar purposes. As mentioned above in the book special section, we were also able to take the opportunity during one of those trips to stop in at a couple of Amarillo Christian radio station in attempts to get the word out about all of our BSPOP releases. Again, we especially were thankful to Johnnie Thomason of Kingdom Keys Network for helping their listeners be aware of the opportunity to purchase all BSPOP books.
Work still continues on baby steps towards formal incorporation and other more pressing concerns of BSPM. There’s still a few more things that will remain before BSPM is incorporated as the 501(c)(3) that it will need to be--but the journey continues to proceed as finances permit and our God graciously permits and allows. We are still also working with one source for the development of the necessary ministry/business logos that will be required to operate and pictorially represent the essence of what BSPM, BSPOP, etc. plans to become.
